I’m Not Afraid of AI. It Won’t Replace Me. Ever!
A Robot Beats Me at Running. So What?
Companies are laying off large parts of their workforce. You see it everywhere in the media.
The “AI job apocalypse.” A “white-collar bloodbath.”
Companies think that adopting AI will help them work more effectively and efficiently. But I’m not worried. AI will never be able to replace me.
The older I get, the more I look at technology differently.
I still love it. I want technology to impress me. I want it to make life better. Sometimes that means big things, like improving health or helping people live better lives. Technology means progress. But sometimes it means something much smaller and much more personal.
I want technology to take boring, repetitive tasks off my plate. I would happily send a robot to more than half of the meetings I attend. It could nod every five minutes, record the conversation, and send me a one-minute summary with key takeaways. Perfect. That would leave me with more time for things that actually give me energy.
And I don’t just mean leisure. I mean work that matters to me. Work that teaches me something. Work that gives me satisfaction. Work that creates memories. Work that needs my input.
